Army Women’s Soccer Leads Patriot League Following Army-Navy Cup & Firstie Night Victory

Published on October 20, 2026

The Army West Point Women’s Soccer team has plenty to celebrate this October! From retaining the Army-Navy Cup to honoring its Firsties with a commanding 4-0 victory over Lafayette, the Black Knights continue to make their mark on the field and in the Patriot League standings.

On October 9, Army retained the Army-Navy Cup following a hard-fought 0-0 draw against rival Navy at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania. The result extended the team’s unbeaten streak against the Midshipmen to six matches, giving the West Point community another reason to celebrate the Black and Gold.

The momentum continued on October 17, when the Black Knights celebrated Senior Night—better known at West Point as Firstie Night—with an impressive 4-0 shutout of Lafayette at Malek Stadium at Clinton Field. Firstie captain Maddi Woodward opened the scoring, with Bella Conti, Kamryn McWhinney, and Makaela Morrell adding goals to complete the victory. The evening was especially meaningful as the team recognized its graduating Class of 2027 players and their contributions to the program.

With a 5-0-1 conference record, Army sits atop the Patriot League standings and remains unbeaten in conference play. Even more impressive, the Black Knights have not allowed a goal in seven consecutive matches, tying the second-longest shutout streak in program history.

With three regular-season conference matches remaining, Army is approaching the end of the regular season as a conference leader, with a championship in sight.

Congratulations to our cadet-athletes on an outstanding run, and especially to our Firsties as they celebrate their final season representing the Black and Gold!
