Men's Basketballs Captures Home Win Over Colgate
An efficient shooting performance helped the Army West Point men's basketball team defend Christl Arena and capture a 91-81 victory over Colgate in a Patriot League game on Wednesday night. Tommy Funk led the offensive charge for the Black Knights (8-10, 3-2 Patriot League) against the Raiders (10-8, 2-3 Patriot League). The cow went 9-of-12 from the floor and a perfect 3-of-3 from deep for a career-high 25 points to pair with a team-high four assists. Jordan Fox was also in a groove all night, burying five shots from the field and four from long range for 15 points. Matt Wilson came away with nine points and a game-high eight rebounds, while Lonnie Grayson and John Emezie added 12 and 10, respectively, in the scoring column.
Army tied the all-time series with Colgate, 62-62. The Black Knights tied a season-high for points scored in a game with 91. The Cadets shot a season-best 59 percent from the field and 54 percent from deep. Twelve of the team's 31 made shots came from long range. Army recorded double-digit makes from beyond-the-arc for the seventh time this season. Funk's nine made shots tied a career high. It was the first time this season that the cow eclipsed the 20-point threshold. He now has four 20-point games in his career with two of them coming against Colgate.
