Women's Tennis Caps Weekend with Third Straight Shutout

CDT Melanie Allen '19The Army West Point Women's Tennis closed out the weekend with its third consecutive shutout following a 7-0 victory over Quinnipiac on Saturday at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center. The Black Knights improved to 12-5 on the season, while the Bobcats fell to 3-6. Army jumped to 14-1 in the all-time series with Quinnipiac. The Black Knights improved to 9-2 on their home court. It was the first time since March 23-25 of last season Army shutout three straight opponents. Allen posted the 25th singles dual victory of her career. The Cape Coral, Fla., native competed at the No. 3 singles position for the first time in her career. Bou and Boubel tied DiMaio for the most singles dual wins on the team with their eighth of the year. Joyner earned her fifth win at the No. 1 doubles position this season and 19th of her career. Vincent became the eighth Cadet this season to reach double-digit singles wins with her 10th victory.

After Spring Break, the Black Knights will begin Patriot League play against Lafayette, Holy Cross and Loyola on March 22-23. Read more.
