Penland '79 Named Senior Director of Business Dev. at MSA

Penland '79Pat Penland has been named the Senior Director of Business Development at Meta Special Aerospace (MSA), a global C3ISR provider of customized aircraft modifications for commercial and government applications.

Penland joins MSA with 40 years of combined experience as a military intelligence officer, systems and project engineer and program manager within the C3ISR market. In his role with MSA, Penland will represent the company to senior military decision makers and customers as well as industry clients and partners in the United States and overseas. Besides serving as a principal customer interface, he will identify growth initiatives, assist in developing and implementing capture strategies, and recognize and execute teaming and sub-contracting opportunities.

Prior to joining industry, Penland served 11 years as a United States Army military intelligence officer. During his military career he was assigned as a tactical intelligence officer with the 4th Infantry Division, chief of intelligence collection and analysis with V Corps and a cryptologic intern with the National Security Agency. Penland then transitioned into 28 years of industry experience with E-Systems, Raytheon and L3 Technologies, starting as a system engineer and culminating as a Vice President of program management.
