
Cadets Learn First Hand of the Velvet Revolution

Cold War Staff Ride cadets took a break from leading the group and listened to Radek, a Czech tour guide who personally participated as a young man in the 1989 Velvet Revolution that led to the end of Communism in Czechoslovakia. Cadets learned a great deal about the daily struggles of life under communism, ranging from the significant restrictions on human rights to constant shortages of daily commodities like toilet paper and coffee.
