Cadets Visit Krakow and Study Polish History
Cadets on the Cold War Staff Ride visited Krakow early in the morning and began a day dedicated to studying Polish history. They spent the morning exploring the Old City and Wawel Royal Castle where they saw a statue of Tadeusz Kościuszko, honoring him for his attempt to liberate Poland in the 19th Century. In the afternoon, cadets toured Kazimierz, the old Jewish quarter of Krakow. They walked across the river and saw the location of the Jewish Ghetto during World War II and visited the location of Oskar Schindler's factory.
