Rifle Ranked Sixth in National Poll
The Army West Point Rifle team earned the No. 6 spot in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) national poll, released Monday afternoon.
The rankings are based off the highest aggregate score shot by each team. Since the Black Knights have not competed yet this season, their ranking is based off last season's scores.
Among Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) schools, the Black Knights earned the fourth highest ranking, trailing just No. 1 West Virginia, No. 3 Kentucky and No. 5 Ole Miss.
Last season, Army took sixth place overall at the NCAA Championships, finishing the match with an aggregate score of 4646.
The Black Knights open their season with a pair of road matches beginning on October 26 versus Ole Miss and followed by a match the next day against Memphis.
