Hockey Earns Bonus Point in Shootout Win over Air ForceThanks to Eric Butte's late game heroics with 51 seconds on the clock, the Army West Point Hockey team sent its rivalry game with Air Force to double overtime and a sudden death shootout.

The Black Knights and Falcons needed nine rounds of a shootout to decide who got the bonus point in the night's contest. Ultimately, it was Kevin Dineen who sealed the shootout victory for Army in front of a sellout crowd at Tate Rink.

The game officially ended in a tie, but the Cadets earned a bonus point for Atlantic Hockey standings with the shootout victory.

Army started off hot with a goal 18:45 into the game. John Keranen set up the goal beautifully for Brett Abdelnour who scored from the doorstep. The Falcons netted their first of the night halfway through the second period, 9:36 in. Nearly two minutes later, Air Force struck again, this time on the power play, putting the opponent up 2-1. The lead didn't last long as the Black Knights scored a power play of their own thanks to Michael Wilson. Read more.
