Seven Rifle Team Members Receive First Round Invites to Junior Olympics
Seven different members of the Army West Point Rifle team earned first round invitations to the 2019-20 Rifle National Junior Olympics in Colorado Springs, Colo., in April.
Ashley Clegg (Air Rifle), Emily Gay (Air Rifle) and Lauren McMahan (Smallbore, Air Rifle) will compete in the Women's Junior Olympics from April 6-11. Overall there were 77 shooters that received smallbore invitations and 203 for air rifle.
Nicholas Cheshire (Smallbore, Air Rifle), Christian Conrad (Smallbore, Air Rifle), Spencer Gillis (Air Rifle) and Sawyer Williams (Smallbore, Air Rifle) are Army's representatives for the men's competition, which will run from April 13-18. In total, there were 76 invitees for smallbore and 206 for air rifle.
The Black Knights return to action for the Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) Championship in Memphis, Tenn., on February 28-29.
