Gymnastics Slated 12th in Preseason Coaches Poll
The Army West Point Gymnastics team has been ranked 12th in the 2021 College Gymnastics Association Preseason Coaches Poll, the organization announced yesterday.
The Black Knights closed out the shortened 2020 season on a high note, recording the program's highest score since 2016 with a 408.650 output against William & Mary and earning their first victory over service academy rival Air Force in five seasons. Cow Mathew Davis will once again look to lead the Black Knights after being named the team's first CGA All-American since 2005 last season.
Stanford (221 points) sits atop the poll, with Oklahoma (208 points), Michigan (187 points), Nebraska (171 points) and Illinois (156 points) rounding out the top five.
Army’s 2021 slate of competitions will be released in the near future.
