Wrestling Picks Up Two Points on the Road
In their 69th overall meeting, the Army West Point Wrestling team and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks squared off in a battle for points. Despite making a comeback from a 9-0 deficit, Lehigh was able to secure victories in the final two bouts for an 18-16 win.
After tough losses in the 125 and 133 slot, Lane Peters turned the tides for the Black Knights in a 4-2 decision over Connor McGonagle. Peters set the pace for P.J. Ogunsanya and Markus Hartman to follow suit, each nailing victories for a three-match streak and tying the score at nine.
Lehigh regained the lead at 165lbs, but Army was able to take their largest lead of the day after the 174 and 184 bouts. Plebe Ben Pasiuk got his first collegiate victory at 174lbs, taking a dominant 20-11 major decision victory from Jake Logan. Army now with a one-point lead, Taylor Brown gave the Black Knights a little more breathing room at 184lbs, notching a 4-0 decision from Caden Wright. The Mountain Hawks picked up momentum in the final moments, taking victories at 197lbs and 285lbs to secure a team win. Read more.
