Women’s Tennis Set to Host ITA Regional Championships

After a one-year hiatus, the ITA Regional Championships are set to happen once again at Army West Point. The Black Knights will host the three-day tournament from October 1-3 and will welcome student-athletes from across the Northeast region to compete at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.

This season, to mitigate the spread of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the regional tournament has been split up into two sections, the first being at West Point and the second being at Penn. The top competitors from each tournament will earn a spot at the Super Regional event, hosted at Princeton University two weeks later (October 15-18).

The bracket-style tournament will kick off at 9am on Friday morning with the first round of 128 kicking off at Lichtenberg Tennis Center and the adjacent Malek Courts. Saturday's action will feature the rounds of 64 and 32, with the competition finishing up on Sunday with the championship matches.

Army will have one final tune-up before the tournament this weekend, when they travel to Bethlehem, PA to compete at the Lehigh Invite. Read more.
