Cadets Gain Hands-On Geology Experience
Published on October 18, 2021
BYGs (Budding Young Geologists) enrolled in EV388A (Physical Geology) gained some hands on experience practicing field methods in geology. Cadets used a Brunton Compass to measure the strike and dip of both naturally occurring and engineered bedding planes around West Point. They also practiced rock and mineral identification. Both of these skills will be built upon during the term design project, geologic tour of the Hudson Valley, and Term End Exam.
