Cadets Conduct Uniaxial Tension TestsDay 3 of the semester and the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering is already in the labs for experiential learning. CE404, Design of Steel Structures, conducted uniaxial tension tests to determine the effects of heat treatment and cooling on the material properties of steel. MC364, Mechanics of Materials, conducted the same test to analyze the material properties of aluminum.
