Professor Herbst Virtual Cadet LectureCadets across EN102 heard a virtual lecture by Professor Seth Herbst entitled “‘Caught’ and ‘Freed’: Certainty and Uncertainty in Shakespeare’s Sonnets.” This course-wide lecture emphasized the communal nature of EN102, offering a common language to discuss Shakespeare’s sonnets as each individual section embarks on their respective journeys into poetry. Cadets also had the opportunity to pose questions to Professor Herbst, including CDT Luke Noonan ’25, engaging with the idea of “uncertainty” that defines this year’s EN102 course theme.
