USMA Model UN at NYUMUNC
Ten cadets from USMA Model UN traveled to New York City to participate in New York University's Model UN Conference (NYUMUNC), hosted by New York University. NYUMUNC presented the West Point MUN team with the opportunity to develop public speaking skills, gain knowledge of international affairs, and represent the Army and the Academy in a professional and positive way to an international student audience. Schools in attendance included Princeton University, Harvard University, American University, and the University of Maryland, among others.
The conference ended with 6 of 10 cadets earning individual awards, with the entire team performing well and displaying exceptional speaking skills, negotiation, and cooperative problem solving with over 300 other students from domestic and international universities. The following cadets were individually recognized for their outstanding performances: Joseph Kyburz '20, Hunter Arnold '21, Nicholas Cunningham '20, Benjamin Snyder '21, Dana Cody '20 and Noah Kim '22. The following cadets were also integral to the team's success: Madeline Whitehead '21, Dillon Reynolds, Wesley Swain '20 and Neil Krishnan '20.
