Women’s Tennis Shines at Lehigh Invite
In their final tune-up before the ITA Championships, the Army West Point Women’s Tennis team dominated at the Lehigh Invite, winning 27 of a possible 31 matches. Army competed against Fairfield, Lehigh and Colgate in the three-day competition hosted on the Lehigh University campus.
Firstie captain Caroline Vincent got off to a great start in her Fall season, posting a 4-0 record on the singles and doubles courts. Vincent and her doubles partner and fellow captain, Stephanie Dolehide outscored their opponents in two matches in doubles play.
Justice Dondonay shined in singles action, posting two two-set victories while outsourcing her competition 24-8. Plebe Cooper Jackson posted the largest victory of the tournament on Sunday, running away with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep over Megha Dania (Lehigh).
The Black Knights are back in action next week at the ITA Regional Tournament. The three-day tournament will be hosted by Army at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center from October 1-3. Read more.
